VOICE OF PEOPLE
ONE FOR ALL-ALL FOR ONE
The name of the organization is Voice of People, also called VOP. Voice of People (VOP) is an ecumenical, non-political and a non-profit making association of Asian Christians. It is committed in bringing Christians of Asian origin closer together through various community activities. VOP tries to support and coordinate various activities, which serves religious and social harmony in a multi-faiths and multi-cultural society in the UK.
VOP HAS THE FOLLOWING AIMS
· To protect and promote Asian Christian culture and its value system and to address cultural, moral, religious and social issues that affect Asian Christians in a multi-cultural context.
· To bring integration by working for the unity of Asian Christians who are affected by the divisions, factions and various barriers and to help them to be of one mind, heart and spirit and serve one another with the love of Christ.
· To support and co-ordinate various activities which brings religious and social harmony in a multi-faith and multi-cultural society in the UK, and help Asian Christians to maintain their own identity in the society.
· To do research in human rights violations against Asian Christians particularly in non-tolerant countries, and to high light their plight at various forums to win support for them. To express solidarity with Asian Christians who are facing religious persecutions in non-Christian countries and to work to defend their religious freedom.
· To support and co-ordinate activities that help Asian Christians free from physical, spiritual, educational and socio-economic bondages of slavery in their home countries.
In the pursuit of these aims and objectives, remaining faithful to the teachings of Christ and his Church, the VOP will cooperate with other like-minded professional, ecumenical, national and international organizations.
